I know the entire world is already all over this one, from national television to facebook, but I still need to get this off my chest or out of my head or whatever…
Beach Party in Cannes. Fantastic food, free beer and wine. A nice breeze and the most beautiful waves I’ve seen in a long time – Most people would consider this to be a perfect evening.
Then all of a sudden someone whispers in my ear – “did you hear? Michael Jackson’s dead..” What do you respond to something like that?
Somehow I have the feeling that our crappy “dj” caused the heart attack – An hour earlier he started playing “Beat It”, then after five secs skipped to “Billie Jean”, then to “The Way You Make Me Feel” before settling on “Bad”. What kind of deaf, lefthanded M*F* treats 3 great classics like that?!
It’s bad karma, I think MJ felt it, and couldn’t take the disrespecting treatment.
I know the man hasn’t dropped a hit record in over 10 years, but denying his extraordinary talent is blasphemy in my eyes. As I’m writing this, I am slowly realizing that the man who gave us dozens of outstanding dance tracks, showed us how to moonwalk, and shout out phrases like “HIII-HIII” and “Shom-ooon!” is dead.
I believe Michael had peace in his heart these last months – Not only did he escape the charges of being a paedofile, but his shows in many capital cities were completely sold out almost instantly, even though the man haven’t done a world tour since I was 11. Personally speaking, I think the tour 2009 would have been a disaster, because so many hardcore M.J. fans would realize that their favorite icon had faded out and couldn’t thrill like they wanted him to.
I think it warmed his heart to see the tickets go so fast, to really feel that people still needed him around – Basically, I think that’s all the man really needed to know before he left, and I’m glad my image of Michael Jackson, as The King of Pop, is still preserved and intact.
Michael Jackson, R.I.P.
